I get a lot of inquiries about texting on one of the newer mini iPhone clones. Although not all of the inquiries mention the phone by name, most times I assume that the person is asking abut the CECT KA08 because it’s probably the most popular mini on the market right now. It comes in a whole bunch of cool colors, has the popular sought after features and is smaller and cuter than previous models. Still, one look at this phone makes a person wonder how much of a challenge texting is going to be.

No one wants to give up this feature as messaging or sending SMS messages has become every bit as popular as talking. You can obtain tons of text messages from your carrier for very little cost, so it’s definitely a cheap way to use your phone. And, it’s just convenient. You don’t have to worry about calling someone at a bad time. You can just text them and they will read the message at a time that is convenient for them. You really don’t have to give this up when using these minis. I’ll discuss this more in the following article.

Sending A Text Message On A Phone That Is The Size Of A Credit Card: The concerns about messaging on these phones are completely understandable. If you take a look at one, you can’t help but wonder how big the letters are going to be. Well, let’s put this in perspective. Most of the minis have a 2.8 inch touch screen as opposed to a 3.2 inch screen. So, you are losing .4 inches (or almost 1/2 inch) of space.

Now, like almost all of the other clones, when you get ready to text, you go to your welcome menu and hit SMS. Then you enter in your contact and the digital QWERTY key board will pop up. You’ll see the letters, numbers and a space bar. Now, you do have the option of changing this up. For example, if you needed to, you could just do numbers, or just capitols, or just lower case, etc.. But most people just stick with what pops up or is the default. Yes, the letters may well be smaller than what you are used to. Basically, you are sort of texting with your finger nail or finger tip rather than with the pad of your fingers. However, most people get used to this relatively quickly, unless they chose to use the included stylus.

Using The Stylus To Text On The mini KA08: Speaking of the stylus, many people will just use this rather than trying to manipulate their fingers. This phone has a built in metal stylus that you simply remove and tap the letter / number that you want in the same way that you use it for a video game or other electronic device. (It’s a lot like the Nintendo DS, but it’s metal rather than plastic.) And, if you lose or leave behind the stylus, you can use a pen with the ink removed. (You remove the ink so that you don’t write on your screen.) This actually works just as well and most people have pens in their purse, backpack, or briefcase.

To sum it up, you don’t have to fore go texting on this phone, but most people will quickly adjust or chose to use the stylus. Either way, most people realize that it’s not all that bad.
